Meet Our Pups

  • Hazel

Hazel is a sweet one-year-old girl who is still adjusting to a whole new world since being rescued. She can be shy and timid when faced with new people, environments, and experiences, but she has already begun showing signs of progress as she learns to feel safe and secure. Hazel will thrive with a patient, loving adopter who understands that trust takes time and is willing to let her move at her own pace. With consistency, kindness, and encouragement, I am confident Hazel will continue to gain confidence and blossom into a loyal and loving companion.

  • Jasper

Jasper is a handsome one-year-old boy with a gentle, affectionate nature. Since being rescued, he has quickly discovered some of life's simple pleasures—soaking up affection from his people, playing with his toys, and stretching out in a sunny spot for a relaxing nap. Jasper enjoys being pet and is happy to spend time close to those he trusts. As he continues to settle into home life, his sweet personality shines brighter each day. He is ready to find a loving forever home where he can continue enjoying the comfort, care, and companionship he has only recently come to know.

  • Teddy (ADOPTED)

This sweet 2-year-old Shih Tzu mix has had a rough start in life, coming to us as an owner surrender after being kept mostly outside on a chain. Despite everything he’s been through, his spirit is incredibly bright—he’s loving, gentle, and always happy to be around people. Now safe and cared for, he’s discovering how much he enjoys both running around the yard and relaxing inside the house. He’s already vaccinated and neutered, and he’s even starting to learn basic commands like “sit.” With his joyful personality and affectionate nature, this happy boy is ready to leave his past behind and find the forever home he truly deserves.

  • Sadie

Sadie’s story could have ended very differently. For days she was seen running the busy streets of San Pedro, darting through traffic and hiding underneath parked cars, terrified and unsure of who to trust. Every loud noise and unfamiliar face sent her running again. Thankfully, with the help of a professional trapper and many caring people who refused to give up on her, Sadie was finally brought to safety. She is incredibly lucky to be alive and not struck by a car during her time on the streets.

Sadie is a beautiful Border Collie mix, estimated to be between one year and eighteen months old. Despite everything she has been through, she has a gentle and loving spirit. She is now spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and has had a complete veterinary wellness exam. It is clear she was neglected in her short life and has already had puppies far too young, yet none of that has taken away her sweetness or her desire to be close to people.

As Sadie settles into safety, her personality shines a little brighter every day. She is learning to trust people and discovering what it means to feel cared for. One of her favorite things is belly rubs — she happily rolls onto her back for affection and soaks up every bit of kindness she receives. She is smart, eager to learn, and is already doing wonderfully with leash training. Sadie also gets along well with other dogs and enjoys companionship and reassurance from both people and canine friends.

Sadie deserves the kind of life every dog should have: a safe home, a soft bed, patience, love, and a family who will never let her feel abandoned again. She has survived fear and hardship, and now she is ready for a forever home where she can continue to heal and blossom into the loyal companion she was always meant to be.

  • Dakota (ADOPTED)

Dakota’s story is one of resilience, compassion, and second chances. At just 11 months old, this sweet girl found herself at North Central Animal Shelter facing euthanasia due to a severe compound fracture in her front left leg. Thanks to the quick action and dedication of PV PAWS and their incredible rescue coordinators, Dakota was given the opportunity she so deeply deserved—a chance to heal and to live. After being picked up from the shelter, Dakota was immediately taken to AM PM Ideal Pet Care, where the wonderful Dr. Lee stepped in to provide the urgent care she needed. Surgery was scheduled right away, and Dakota spent four nights in the hospital under careful supervision. Her recovery has been nothing short of inspiring. Two weeks later, her stitches were removed, and she continues to make steady progress. With follow-up x-rays scheduled soon, she is well on her way to a full recovery. Despite everything she has endured, Dakota’s spirit has never wavered. She is truly a lovebug—always eager to give kisses and soak up affection from everyone she meets. She’s dog-friendly and already looking forward to the day she can run and play freely with her furry friends. Playful, curious, and endlessly affectionate, Dakota has a goofy, joyful personality that shines through in everything she does. She even likes horses! Her rough start in life has not dimmed her light; if anything, it has made her shine even brighter. Dakota will be available for adoption as soon as she receives final clearance from her surgeon, and she will make an incredible addition to a loving family. She is kid-friendly, full of life, and has a heart of gold. This girl is truly a gem—everyone who meets her falls in love instantly. Dakota’s journey is a beautiful reminder of the power of compassion and the difference it can make in a life.

  • Sarah (ADOPTED)

She was found abandoned in a quiet neighborhood, too frightened to trust the world around her, hiding away as if she could disappear from the fear she felt. But despite everything she had been through, her gentle spirit never faded. Now, given a second chance at life, she’s beginning to show just how sweet she truly is. She may be a little shy at first and needs a few minutes to feel safe, but once she does, her loving nature shines—she’ll softly place her paw in your hand and cover your face with grateful kisses. She gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats, and her easygoing personality makes her a joy to be around. All she’s ever needed is someone patient enough to see past her fear and into the loving heart she’s been protecting all along.
