Snoop's journey hasn't been an easy one. He found himself back at the shelter for a second time, and heartbreakingly, no one came looking for him. As the days passed, he was placed on the euthanasia list due to behavioral concerns. To be completely honest, his shelter notes gave us pause. They documented multiple bite incidents, and we knew this would not be an easy decision.
But we also know something incredibly important: the shelter is one of the most stressful environments a dog can experience, and behavior there doesn't always tell the whole story. Dogs deserve to be seen for who they are outside of those four walls, and Snoop deserved that chance.
Today, thanks to two incredible fosters and a team of amazing volunteers who became his biggest cheerleaders, Snoop safely walked out of the shelter with PV PAWS Rescue. From the very beginning, we listened to what his notes told us and respected his boundaries. We moved slowly, gave him space, and let him set the pace. In return, Snoop showed us exactly who he really is—a goofy, fun-loving, affectionate boy with the sweetest frosted face and a heart that was simply waiting for someone to understand him.
Over the next few weeks, Snoop will have time to decompress, settle into his foster home, receive the dental care he desperately needs, and learn that the world can be a safe place again. Once he's had time to heal and adjust, he'll be looking for a family of his own.
